CATARHEX 3

Small platform, big performance

The CataRhex 3 by Oertli is a compact and portable surgical platform for cataract and glaucoma surgery. The full innovative strength of Oertli is packed in an impressively small housing. The precise flow control, the powerful performance and the high user-friendliness of the CataRhex 3 make it the ideal phaco device in eye surgery under a range of conditions.

SPEEP® pump
The SPEEP pump uses the same principle as a peristaltic pump 1 to control the flow during phaco surgery. SPEEP also allows the vacuum to be controlled with the foot pedal.

easyPhaco® technology
Fluidics based on physics. Thanks to Oertli’s fluidics concept, easyPhaco allows a direct fragment followability and provides a strong fragment holdability *.

HFDS®
HFDS stands for High Frequency Deep Sclerotomy. In micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), HFDS creates a direct access from anterior chamber to the Schlemm canal and further into the sclera.

The multifunctional pedal
The robust multifunctional pedal, which is connected to the phacoemulsification machine, enables reliable control of the system with simple foot movements. The pedal is waterproof 1, extremely compact and weighs just 2.6 kilograms.

Fluidics based on physics
Thanks to the precise flow control provided by the peristaltic principle, the CataRhex 3 provides precision and force, both for phacoemulsification with easyPhaco and for I/A and anterior vitrectomy.

I/A with safety design
The ophthalmic I/A instruments and tips with Safety Design have a long shaft to allow sub-incisional access and are designed for stable anterior chamber conditions.

HF Capsulotomy
Since its launch in 1991, high-frequency capsulotomy has proven to be the ideal method for opening the lens capsule in uncountable cases – entirely without the usual tearing by forceps and needles.

Simple cataract operation
The display is well laid out and easy to use. Additionally, the ophthalmic device starts up quickly; after switching on, the system is ready for operation within a few seconds.

Accessories
As with all Oertli devices, the CataRhex 3 surgical platform is a closed system that comprises matching instruments and tailor-made device accessories.
