Faros
MAKING THE DIFFERENCE WITH POWER LED
The Oertli Faros is a compact surgical platform available for the anterior segment or as a combined anterior and posterior segment system, offering flexibility for a wide range of ophthalmic procedures.
It features the SPEEP pump, easyPhaco technology, and an HF capsulotomy tip for precise, safe, and efficient surgery.
The system also includes a Continuous Flow Cutter, Power LED light source, and optional HFDS technology for glaucoma surgery, delivering versatility and reliable performance in one platform.

Efficient and powerful
The Faros is an efficient and powerful surgical platform for cataract, vitreoretinal and glaucoma surgery *. During surgery, there is no time to work through complex menu structures and clumsy user processes. This is why the Faros surgical platform is systematically designed for user friendliness *.
Features of the Faros
SPEEP® pump
The SPEEP pump uses the same principle as a peristaltic pump 1 to control the flow. SPEEP also allows the vacuum to be controlled with the foot pedal.
easyPhaco® technology
Fluidics based on physics. Thanks to Oertli’s fluidics concept, easyPhaco allows a direct fragment followability and provides a strong fragment holdability *.
HFDS®
HFDS stands for High Frequency Deep Sclerotomy. In micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), HFDS creates a direct access from anterior chamber to the Schlemm canal and further into the sclera.
The dual-linear pedal
The dual-linear foot pedal is the versatile control unit of the Faros. Manufactured from robust metal and precisely finished, the pedal responds to the surgeon’s commands without delay.
Perfect control of fluidics
Making best possible use of fluidics and physics has always been a distinct feature of Oertli that resulted in its establishment as an innovative leader in this sector of ophthalmology. The impressive fluidics system is no doubt one of the key elements for the exceptional performance of this platform.
Easy and safe operation
During surgery, there is no time to work through complex menu structures and clumsy user processes. This is why the Faros surgical platform is systematically designed for user friendliness *.
Power LED technology
The Faros is equipped with a Power LED light source that has a long service life thanks to latest LED technology. The wide control range is an ideal combination with 3D microscopes, especially at low lumens *.
Anterior & posterior segment device
The compact Faros is optionally available as a device for the anterior segment or as a combined system for both the anterior and posterior segments.
Infusion system
An important criterion for eye surgery is sustaining the intraocular pressure (IOP) to ensure a stable anterior chamber. To maintain the IOP, the Faros has two options for infusion systems: active and gravity infusion *.
